BARCELONA

This August just gone, Francis and I celebrated his 29th birthday in Barcelona. A beautiful and vibrant city where plenty of tapas and sangria was consumed!

The days involved seeing the sights, shopping, eating and enjoying the sun (and unfortunately the rain). On our first day we spent some time by the beach as this was the best forecast out of the few days we were there.

For Francis's birthday, we started the morning with a big breakfast and a glass of prosecco and then chilled by the rooftop pool to recover from our hangover from the night before. We then explored the city and headed back to the hotel to be greeted with a lovely bottle of champagne. We later went out for dinner at a lovely restaurant and listened to live Spanish music (I made them play Happy Birthday, of course).

Every evening after dinner and drinks, we wandered back to our hotel, which had a cosy seating area with candles and a beautiful water fountain. This was always the perfect end to our lovely nights.

Barcelona was a fun and relaxing city break and I would definitely need to go back one day to explore more as we did not stay long enough. I have kept this post short and sweet, I hope you like the photos!
