I usually get told that I dress up a lot, or people may go 'oh where are you going today Laura?' when I am probably not even going anywhere special. I love dressing up and trying different looks whether they merge from causal trainer type outfit to loafers and trousers. Always dress your best everyday is usually my motto in life.
However on Tuesday I really did have to dress up for a smarter occasion. It's difficult to get that balance right of wanting to look chic and fashionable yet also being formal/smart enough. A orange/red lip, against black trousers and a stripe top was smart yet sass at the same time - kinda. I can think of lots of outfits in my head that look stylish yet smart at the same time. This look is actually more formal then all the other looks I have in mind, but I didn't know how far I could stretch with looking too informal. If I ever enter the world of work where you had to always dress 'appropriate' rather than my typical fashion sales floor job, then er bring it on. I would love that dressing up challenge. I can deffo see culottes in my mind in the summer.
